Deal

Anyone who believes that Benazir will strike a deal with General on General's terms, tends to ignore the fact that such deal will take away from her the very premise of strength that forces General to strike a deal with her. She will lose her iconic image of a champion of democracy and masses' rights and a symbol of struggle against establishment.

Nawaz League is much more likely to strike a deal with General. Even there, Nawaz himself seems steadfast on not compromising. However, a major split in the ranks of Nawaz league is expected if the existing situation persists.

An Enigma called Imran Khan
