Marathon
Well I don't feel like saying anything about marathon, for the stance of MMA and Imran Khan was an utter nonsense. For that matter even PPP and N-League didn't make any sense on this (Timing was wrong, my foot. It was announced a year back). However, I have a question to ask to Qazi sahab and his daughter. The threatening, gangster language that Samia Raheel Qazi used on Geo Tv's "50 minute" - a night before the race. Is this the language that suits a nobel person (forget about a nobel lady for the time being)? abusive, threatening, "haan behan aap kul doraeen apnae risk pur". And man you should have heard the expression. It was Sanjay Dutt style. These shameless people have no morals whatsoever.
And by the way this Samia Raheel Qazi is an MNA who sits with men in National Assembly and she isdaughter of Qazi Hussain Ahmad, who was elected from two constituencies and in both of them the women were forcefully disallowed to vote through jirga decisions initiated by Qazi sahab's MMA. So he doesn't like women coming out and surprise surprise, his daughter was the first name on MMAs list for special seats for women in NA.

I just came across your blog, was really impressed and wanted to applaud that you are a source of food for thought towards politics and democracy.
Well i would like to state here that you are absolutely right one should not act agressive but if he/she has stance a firm and humble comment makes a difference for educated people. But mistake is a universal truth in a human being. So one should ignore some :-)
In jamaat e islami the structure is quite complex and after a long journey of training within, The name for NA-Seat was given by the Stake holders of Jamaat e Islami women wing alonwith several other members and at that time the secretary general was Mrs. Ayesha Munnawar.
Samia Raheel Qazi's career involves direct involvement of her in social work since she was in 9th grade. She was elected as Secretary general of Student Union of Lahore college for women.
She then was shifted to quetta where she layed the first foundation of convincing the people of balochistan to send their females to schools.
On other side she is the Assistant Secretary General of International Muslim Women Union a UN recognized organisation with its branches in 64 muslim countries across the globe. She is the founder member since 1992.
She was incharge Foreign Affairs Jamaat e islami Women wing back in 2002, then she was the incharge of Women Aid Trust an NGO providing support to females in Jail etc.
She was the part of UN congresses Beijing +5 and beijing +10. She has participated in numerous scholarly moots and conferences, she was a lecturer in a private university of lahore till 2002 she served for 4 years.
Now she is the incharge of political Cell of jamaat e islami women wing presided by the secretary general of jamaat e islami women wing Mrs. Kausar Firdaus.
She is also a student of PhD in women studies at Punjab University since 3 years.
She is at the panel of numerous NGO's working for human rights.
Qazi hussain ahmed never nominated her daughter for the assembly, nor he denies the right of vote for women. But ethics are followed in areas where it is a norm. Everything is classified and transparent in jamaat, while the distribution of seats is according to the merit.
